Promise is God's faithful commitment to accomplish what He has declared according to His character and purposes.
God's promises rest not upon human merit but upon His own unchanging nature. Because God cannot lie, every promise He makes is trustworthy and certain of fulfillment. Throughout Scripture, His promises unfold His redemptive plan, finding their fulfillment in Jesus Christ, through whom believers receive forgiveness, eternal life, the gift of the Holy Spirit, the resurrection of the body, and an everlasting inheritance. Faith believes God's promises, hope confidently awaits their fulfillment, and obedience lives in light of them.
