Hope

Hope is the confident expectation that God will fulfill every promise He has made.

Biblical hope is not wishful thinking or uncertain optimism. It is the settled confidence that rests upon God's unchanging character, His faithful promises, and the finished work of Jesus Christ. Because Christ has conquered sin and death through His resurrection, believers look forward with assurance to His return, the resurrection of the dead, the restoration of creation, and the inheritance He has prepared for His people. Hope steadies the believer in suffering, produces endurance, and fixes the heart upon things eternal rather than things temporal.

See in Scripture: Romans 5:1–5; Romans 8:18–25; Colossians 1:27; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 6:19–20; 1 Peter 1:3–9
