Prayer is the privilege of communion with God, through which His people worship Him, confess their sins, give thanks, and present their requests in the name of Jesus Christ.
Prayer is the gracious privilege of those who have been reconciled to God through Christ. By the Holy Spirit, believers come boldly before the Father, not because of their own righteousness but because of Christ's finished work. Prayer expresses dependence upon God, aligns the believer's heart with His will, and strengthens faith through continual fellowship with Him. Scripture calls both individual believers and the gathered church to devote themselves to prayer, trusting the wisdom, goodness, and faithfulness of the God who hears.
