Humility

Humility is the right understanding of oneself before God, expressed in dependence upon Him and service toward others.

Biblical humility is not self-hatred or the denial of one's gifts and abilities. It is the willing recognition that God alone is supreme and that every good gift comes from Him. The humble person gladly submits to God's authority, receives His grace, and serves others without seeking personal glory. Scripture presents humility not as weakness but as Christlike strength, for the Lord Himself humbled Himself in obedience to the Father and calls His people to walk in the same spirit.

See in Scripture: Micah 6:8; Matthew 23:11–12; Philippians 2:3–11; James 4:6–10; 1 Peter 5:5–6
