Nations are the peoples of the earth collectively, through whom God displays both His righteous judgment and His redemptive purpose.
From the dispersion at Babel to the worship of the redeemed before His throne, the nations occupy a central place in God's plan. Though the nations have repeatedly rebelled against their Creator, God promised from the call of Abraham that all the families of the earth would be blessed through his Seed. Jesus Christ commissioned His church to proclaim the gospel among all nations, anticipating the day when people from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation will worship the Lamb together. The nations are therefore not an afterthought in God's plan but the object of His worldwide redemptive mission.
