Lord

Lord is a title of rightful authority; to confess Jesus as Lord is to own the risen Son whose authority no one grants, and to whom every person must finally answer.

In the New Testament, calling Jesus “Lord” is no empty courtesy: it applies to Him the very name of God, confessing Him as the exalted Son at the Father’s right hand. His lordship is not created by our acknowledgment — it is already His — but saving faith gladly bows to it, giving itself to the One it once resisted.

To take Christ as Saviour is to receive Him as Lord; the two cannot be divided.

See in Scripture: Philippians 2:9–11; Romans 10:9; Acts 2:36; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Psalm 110:1
