Dominion is the authority God entrusts to His image-bearers to order, cultivate, guard, and govern creation under His rule — received stewardship, not autonomous control.
Adam’s dominion was a trust, exercised in dependence upon the God whose image he bore, never a possession to be wielded apart from Him. In rebellion he seized it as his own, and the rule given to bless creation became the frustrated, self-serving dominion of the old humanity.
Christ receives true dominion the opposite way — from the Father, through obedience, death, and resurrection. What Adam dropped, Christ fulfills; and He shares restored human dominion with His people, who will reign with Him under His rule in the renewed creation.
