Divine Keeping

Divine keeping is God’s active protection and preservation of those who belong to Christ: He guards their faith through trial and will bring them to the inheritance He has promised.

The believer’s security does not rest on the strength of his own grip but on the hand that holds him: neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. God keeps His own through every trial, and is able to keep that which is committed to Him against that day. Assurance rests here — not in the steadiness of the believer, but in the faithfulness of the Keeper — and this keeping does not cancel the warnings; it is the very thing they serve.

See in Scripture: John 10:28–29; Romans 8:38–39; Philippians 1:6; 2 Timothy 1:12; 1 Peter 1:5
